Two websites that every patient and family should know about…

Imagine… a personal, protected site that makes it easy to post a health update, send out an email blast to friends and family, and better yet,…  list anything that you need help with.  A website that will save you time and energy of making multiple requests and worrying about being a burden.

Or

Imagine… you are eager to know how your friend is doing… and you want to support her by doing some errands or providing care that she needs.  You don’t want to keep phoning, are afraid of being a burden, and you hate to ask “Is there anything I can do for you?” Instead you go to her website, get a health update, check the calendar to see what she needs, and sign up to provide a drive to the doctor, a meal for the family, and some time to sit with her. Five minutes later you receive an email to confirm your committment.  The next day you receive an email to remind you of the doctors appointment.

Wow! Simple.  Clear.  Easy.

Two examples of this type of service include Lotsahelpinghands and CaringBridge

Has anyone used these websites?  Are there other websites that are similar?  What works?  What doesn’t work?   I look forward to learning more!
