    Foreword

The process of publishing a textbook takes numerous rounds of proofreading and many people are involved in the process. Unfortunately, the first edition of most books has some errors that creep in to the final printed text. When publishers and authors find these errors, they publish a list of errata: elements that are wrong that are fixed in the next printing.

In some cases, new information that would greatly benefit readers becomes available after book publication. Such was the case for this text. A new code of ethics, and three research publications in 2017 contained information that would benefit the student’s understanding and/or the update included crucial information. On this basis, the following changes were completed.

This list constitutes revisions made to Essentials in Hospice and Palliative Care: A Practical Resource for Every Nurse, 2016. Text content is identified in quotation marks. To aid with readability, an entire paragraph of content is included here if more than two words were changed in a paragraph.
