Information: Shauna’s passion is the development of effective leaders and healthy, productive organizations, particularly in the health sector. She brings over 30 years of experience as a nurse, leader and educator in acute and ambulatory health care in 3 provinces, plus skills in coaching, facilitating and team development.
Shauna’s interest in hospice palliative care began in Kingston, ON in the early 1990’s when she was Director of Nursing at the Kingston Regional Cancer Centre. While in Kingston, she worked as a volunteer with Hospice Kingston and as a palliative care instructor with ComCare Canada. Later, in Nanaimo BC, Shauna managed acute medical services at 3 mid-island hospitals, including the acute palliative care service.
Shauna left organized health care 6 years ago to work as an independent facilitator, coach and educator. Her work has consisted of designing leadership development programs, teaching in the MA Leadership and MBA programs at Royal Roads University, coaching individual leaders, and facilitating team development in the health and voluntary sectors. Shauna is a committed volunteer with Leadership Victoria, a community leadership development program.
