Peter is a Palliative Care physician working currently as Clinical Director at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton, New Zealand.
Beginning in Winnipeg, he worked as a professor of Family Medicine at the University of Manitoba at St Boniface General Hospital from 1984 to 2001, filling the role of Department Head from 1991-2001.
In 2001, after moving to Vancouver Island, he became Director of Research for Vancouver Island Health Authority and Medical Director for Palliative/EOL care in British Columbia. Peter researches communication in palliative care in his work as a Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia. He was Director of the Division of Palliative Care prior to moving to New Zealand.
Peter is married to a wonderful woman named Ingrid, has two children and four grandchildren. |
