Interactive and dynamic hospice and palliative care training for individuals working with the dying, from nurses to family to volunteers to clergy.
Courses materials and discussions occur online.
Learners access resources at their own convenience to meet assignment due dates.
Individuals in 3 week courses estimate their time requirements at 15 hours per course. For example, for each of the 5 course assignments we suggest setting aside one hour for reading, viewing resources and research, and one hour for preparing your assignment then posting to the forum. Portions of a third hour are required for interacting in the ongoing discussions that are part of each assignment and occur over the days following the due date. As each learner has a different background, your own experience and interests will dictate the amount of time each assignment takes for you to complete.
Our courses uniquely feature small groups sizes and one-to-one interaction with the instructors, with opportunities for real time discussions with the instructor, guest speakers and other students during the teleconference.
Courses begin on the 10th and 25th of each month (excepting December, July and August).
Course duration ranges are 3 weeks, 4 weeks or 8 weeks.
Course environments are dynamic learning fields, where individuals from different backgrounds work together, bringing a real life context to discussions and forums. Instructors facilitate discussions so that each individual is challenged to move beyond their current level of knowledge.
