We could all testify to the power of music in our lives but music’s healing capabilities may be most potent at the end of life. In this course, participants will examine how music impacts the experience of a dying person; be introduced to opportunities of using music as a means of care in hospice and palliative care; discover resources to assist in music care.

Objectives

At the end of this course, learners will be able to:

• Describe the benefits of music for a dying person
• Identify 5 situations where music may be introduced in the care of the dying
• Develop a music care resource kit
