Jennifer Wortham is a hybrid. Born and raised in Canada, she has lived most of her adult life in New York City. As a licensed clinical New York State social worker, she has spent over 20 years working as therapist, workshop facilitator and administrator.
Jennifer’s workshops, seminars and online courses use creative approaches to teach professionals and lay people strategies for exploring and addressing grief in safe and healing ways. Her lifelong study of art and her interest in mindfulness are instrumental in helping those navigating the many transitions following losses. She has discovered that expressive creativity helps grieving individuals experience far-reaching positive effects while containing the elements of play. She has worked with a variety of organizations, agencies and communities including adults and children. A Certified Thanatologist, she is a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) as well as the Association for Trauma Stress Specialists.
Jennifer greatly enjoys being a member of the Life and Death Matters online teaching team and to be working with her Canadian compatriots exploring this important subject. She is currently working on a memoir and likes to sail in her spare time.
