Dr. Heather Mohan Van Heerden, PhD, RCC, MTA
Heather Mohan Van Heerden is the Coordinator of the Family Bereavement Program, and music/arts therapy services for the North Shore Palliative Care Program where she has worked as a music therapist and grief counsellor since 1997. Prior to her work with on the North Shore Heather initiated the first music therapy pilot project at Canuck Place Hospice for Children.
Heather completed her BMT degree at WLU in 1992, her Masters degree in Music Therapy at BC Open University in 1998, and her PhD in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University in 2003. She is a faculty member in the music therapy program at Capilano University and in the counselling program at City University. Heather has presented her clinical work and music therapy research at conferences around the world: in Canada, United States, New Zealand, Japan and Europe. |
